Comprehension {CHECK}

I will always remember the day that we mastered comprehension. Words are just words without comprehension and now words are meaningful.
Addison understands no, come here, and more importantly actions and reactions. Daddy's phone rings and her response is "Press as many buttons I can to make it stop ringing and say HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWW?". Mommy's phone rings and her response is "I need to get this to momma right now because there ARE NO BUTTONS!". The dogs bark and her response is "NOOOOOOO!". Kyle or I get a coke out of the refrigerator and she says "Coke".
The action- reaction phase is upon us and I am LOVING it! It is so neat to see her take on things and how she responds to us and what is around her. She loves to watch Wheel Of Fortune and clap when they are spinning the wheel and yell "YAY" when the letters start coming up. Life is a game to her and watching her play it is such a gift.
Recently I bought a used Dyson off of eBay because ours bit the dust (if you knew how often I vacuumed you would understand, BTW Thanks Daddy & Jackie, I LOVE it!). When it got here I realized it matched Addi's play vacuum that is a Dyson (courtesy of MiMi and Pops). It is adorable because now when I vacuum an she vaccums with me we match! She is my little cleaning helper. With our family rounding out at 7 (3 of us, 2 dogs -I am getting to that, and 2 bunnies) we make quite a mess. I keep as good of a handle on it as I can- my new vacuum makes it easier. Addison helps a lot with the dusting and swiffering the floors. Her FAVORITE is the swiffer. In fact, I have to wait until she is down for a nap to actually Swiffer properly because she will kick and scream if I don't let her do it!
Meet the newest member of our Nix Family farm- TANNER!

As if I don't have enough to do we got another dog, but he is sweet and has quickly become part of our family!
Nap time and sleeping all night is a breeze (most of the time) now. She goes to bed around 7 and wakes up around 7. Watching her do her bedtime routine and tell everyone (including the animals) goodnight is such a joy! She is such a sweetheart. She just lays down in her bed and goes to sleep! She's amazing! The terrible two's are quickly approaching but it is times like these that she is my sweet little angelic girl. I know she is going through so many changes and can't tell me whats going on or hurting and it makes her so frustrated but she also has bouts of Kyle and I in her- headstrong moments where if I don't let her do what SHE wants to do or wear what SHE wants to wear, well oh my goodness. It is like something out of The Exorcist!
After this Summer my blog posts will become more frequent I promise. I have been so busy with work/school/Eastern Shore Mom.com that I have hardly had enough time to get on here (hints the 4 posts rolled into one). If you haven't checked out EasternShoreMom.com make sure you do. It is something that I am so proud of and thrilled that my dream of this is finally reality!

"Baby"
Any mother that tells you her child is "addicted" to their pacifier is kidding herself. It is not the child that is addicted but the parent that is addicted!
Addison loves her pacy but I love it more! So when daycare stared telling her that she couldn't have a pacy- pacy's are for "babies" I was up the creek without a paddle! So now when we are at home and it is time for bed I will ask "Addison where is your pacy?" and she runs around frantically calling "Baby" until the finds it. I told the daycare to be careful because she is quickly becoming a parrot and I will know everything they say! So now we refer to the pacy as the "baby" and slowly but surely the "baby" is fading out of her life. This is bitter sweet for me because (1) it means she is not MY baby anymore & (2) how am I going to keep her content in public during her terrible twos without the mouth stopper!!!!!! I am definitely addicted to the "baby"!
The terrible twos are present and/or rapidly approaching and I see more and more of myself coming out in Miss Mini-Kyle. She might look like him on the outside but the inside is ALL MAMA! Miss drama queen, acting queen, dancing queen, you name it- she's queen of it. Other than being sick (thankfully she is nothing like Kyle or I in this department). We have been sick A LOT lately and she is the BEST patient ever. Kyle & I would be moaning and groaning but Addi can throw up, very calmly, and then continue playing like nothing happened! It's FABULOUS!
Well, I will try to keep you all updated as our little one steadily becomes a BIG one and make sure you check out my latest project that occupies my free time if you haven't already @ EasternShoreMom.com.

"Vacation All I Ever Wanted" Part 1
Last weekend we went on Vaca!!!! A much needed vacation seeing that this Thursday I start school full time (on top of work full time); I am FULL-FORCE with my new blog (check it out)and trying to sell Mom's house; and Mothers day, my birthday,
& Kyle and I's anniversary are all right here within 3 weeks.
AAHHHHH our life is crazy!
Well here are some pictures from our trip- you will also see Diana & Daniel (Kyle & I's friends) and Garrett (their little boy who goes to daycare with Addi- he is 9 months old and SO cute). Stay tuned because we are going back this coming weekend with MiMi, Pops, Uncle Graham, & Aunt Carly so I am sure we will have lots more pictures.
Daddy's Girl
Monday, April 13
On Saturday, Nonna hid eggs in the front yard to let Addison hunt them (nobody has egg hunts anymore- and if they do they are all staged for bigger kids).
I was really surprised when she actually knew what to do! The video below is of her finding a "blue" egg- listen towards the end of the video and she says "blue" when she is carrying it!
She's so smart!!!
Don't mind all the racket in the background at first- it is Ben Poppa and Nonna's dog having a fit because we are not paying attention to him!

Paw Paw's Here!
Paw Paw came to visit us over the Easter Holiday!
We were all so excited and after WEEKS of preparation and MONTHS of begging he finally made the ride (on motorcycle) down and stayed with us. Addison enjoyed looking at Paw Paw HOG - lol - and we all went everywhere and saw everyone. We visited cousins, Aunts & Uncles, Great Uncles, Great Grandmothers and Grandfathers. We saw GIANT cat fish, fainting goats, a Zebradonk, petted a deer and fed the brim at the farm down the road. We drove from Bayou La Batre to Orange Beach- all over South Alabama! But we covered everything while Paw Paw was here and even had time for him to hang shelves in my laundry room (He's SUPER PAW PAW!). We did it all and HAD A BLAST! We all can't wait for Paw Paw to come and stay with us again! Here are some pictures from his stay- I will have more when he sends me the ones from his camera.
Vroom, Vroom! Addi honking the horn!

Ready to Ride! (yeah, maybe if the ground was made of matresses and the motorcycle topped out at .2 MPH)
